The whole Justin Sutcliffe conversation is so good here! You both cut through to the chase on your perspectives. Refreshing!
Really enjoyed this one guys. Love Harry's "roving photography reporter/critic" thing. Enjoyed the conversations with Justin and Zed.
Loved that, thanks for sharing. The dictum "just stay at home" works for me as a bit of an introvert! And yes, I cannot think of anything worse than being cajoled into "networking". Eurgh!
Thanks for the tour. 02:49 The two photos of the kid in the striped jumper are striking.
Brandt is an absolute hero. Always has been for me👌
Love the music choices - v cool! Nice to hear HB's take on Nan Goldin!
This was great. It's entertaining and educational. I like the huge mic as well.
Excellent, I saw you and Fred filming....
Well, I went to Photo London for the fourth year in a row last week and as usual found it inspiring as well as a great place for candid photography. The most important piece of advice I would give to anyone going next year or to any similar event, don't be over-awed by the gallery assistants. Asking questions about the work and the photographer can give you a real insight into the work and might even give you some fresh approaches for your own work. Plus you might even meet people like Harry and Fred and be able to remind them ""Don't ever be tempted to sell you copyright!" 😊
Really enjoyed it ( apart from the men carrying Leicas -- to convey 'serious photographer here'). Especially Don McCullin's talk which was extraordinary.
Feels a bit like what one would see on one of those shows about selling stuff, like "Flog It!". 😄 An interesting outing - perhaps do some more of these.
Alongside Zed Nelson's 'negative networking', we can now add the 'photographer that doesn't bring backup batteries', perhaps because he only associates such a thing with photography commissions and not the process of making a film.
Good work lads.
Cheers for that Guys, looked interesting but over costly going down there for it.
The Bill Brandt imagery was all newly printed - from I think his grandsons archive - Brandt never made large prints like the ones on show at the event. The originals were made smaller and on much thinner paper. A few were mounted on card etc.
you couldn’t get enough in one day. I saw you on Thursday in disguise
I really relate to Zed Nelson's negative networking 😂
thanks
Thank You.
