Yes, when that switch flips from 'casual' to 'try hard' it can get dangerous. MMOs and gacha games can capitalize on these very well. Its a good thing Subaru experience a limited version of it in the holo minecraft event. Its so addicting to chase the success you feel because you can optimize for it waaaaay better than real life where its much harder and compicated to get wins. Thanks for translating this!

I think the fact some people try-hard an event and others simply mess around is what makes these kind of events work. If everyone was goofing around and ignoring the main premise, there'd be no point in holding the event in the first place. Or if everyone was cut-throat and try-harding, it'd make the event too dry and we all know people like to optimize the fun out of everything.

I came to the exact same conclusion on having an addictive personality when i would go several days straight of playing HOI4 or Civ 6 and also was like "I shoud never gamble." lol.
