@ChristaWelgemoed

For all his brilliance he must've been awarded the iron cross, plastic cross, brass cross and wooden cross as well

@KARANSINGH-or1le

My dumbass first thought he was going to melt the chain with the home-made magnifying glass

@ColtonChristensen09

If his sniper can’t break that chain, it’s not gonna kill somebody

@pierogpolskiegopochodzenia8572

The only time "work harder" beats "work smarter"

@kristianmakela2651

The man in chains belonged to the 6th SS Gebirgsjäger Division "Nord" and was a Finnish volunteer.
The person who chained him was, in all likelihood, a coastal artillery lieutenant armed with a Suomi submachine gun.
In other words, there were no Germans present at all.

@edspad2

False: The typical 7.92-57 Mauser ammo of that time had more than enough kinetic energy to bust through mild steel chains.

@TheN8ism

Teammates…like they are on a basketball team.

@loyevangelists

Then he was alone in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a war with no weapon

@jakoflynn2560

Very hi IQ or necessity is the mother of invention but probably both hats off to his ingenuity and perseverance

@KeepGamingITA

He's finnish.
PERKELE!

@Abstract_Potato11

So he dug the nail up then proceeded to hammer it back in with a rock.

@StamperOSRS

as soon as i heard him shout “perkele” i knew that was a finnish dude haha

@xvaldez3284

Gun powder doesn't explode unless it's in a container. Its the pressure build up that makes it go bang. No pressure no explosion it simply burns. People would put it on their wounds and light it so it would cauterize the wound shut. That would've been a massive waste of gun powder and potentially dangerous too as the friction of removing the bullet from the casing could cause the gun powder to ignite and turn it into a mini grenade in his hands. Not lethal but definitely tear up your hands or send brass fragments into your face. Its like holding a firecracker in your hand. Also that gun should have definitely been able to punch through that mild steel chainlink. Idk how he shot it in a way that managed to cause pain but he could have always stepped on it while its under tension and shoot the side not attached to him. Also instead of heating up the rock he could have tried doing that to the chain link instead and then cooling it off with the water. Mild steel can still be hardened and in particular most steels react poorly to being water quenched and become brittle from being cooled off too quickly. Man was so well equipped but handled it so poorly. Worst case scenario he probably could have tried simply swing the chain back and forth while under tension against the post. The constant grinding could wear away at the connection point or the chainlink attached to it depending on which material is harder though it would likley be the post grinding through the chain. I've seen chains in industrial applications that have ground through several inches of steel from the swinging motion throughout the years. Intentionally sawing through a few millimeters of steel over the course of a few days seems feasible. It's called contact wear failure

@ColterSnedigar

Those might be Finnish Jaegers

@MaxHeadRoom-bd9vs

Gun powder doesn’t explode unless it’s in a Controler container, like a bullet casing

@Bøddel82

That's Ville Haapasalo from Finland, actor and khachapuri guy! 😃🇫🇮

@Keula_Veeti

Perkele🗣️🔥🔥

@Ale_apina

German soldiers.. they were finnish soldiers

@joonasillanpaa3853

They are Finnish Jaegers

@Gj3456

Powder doesn't explose 😂
