Got divorced when I was 45. I made two rules for myself: don't drink and avoid looking up old friends. I feel I made the wise choice.

@thomasleblanc4228

As a tour manager, and having worked the merch booth, you notice the audience has gotten, balder, fatter, greyer. Merch goes from Med, to Large, to XL, to XXL 😅

@threeleggedman

I feel bad for the roadies who never settle down. They get old on the road. They don't get married, have no kids, and call their parents house home when they're off the road. I almost went down that road in my 30's, but a lovely lady rescued me.

@scottfromsouthcarolina3185

I always said you know you are old when you don't want to listen to any new music. You have become your parents

@janlassensession4209

Most people don't realize that say when you turn 60 you are entering into your 7th decade of life.

@Joseph-oh6mo

I am pushing 60 and I still think of myself as 40. Aging can be a real mind game. Great video - you are on target!

@Saventry

I was in my 20s in the 1980s. I played in big hair bands but never made it out of the bars. But the dream is still alive. 62 now, I'm STILL gonna be a rock star. I REFUSE to give up.

@bacongl

Mostly now I see old friends that have stage 5 TDS losing their minds when they used to be perfectly reasonable people.

@Zen-Zord-Lan-Lord

When I've in recent years listened to people like Jagger, Rod Stewart and Bono talk it has been such cringy embarrassment. They "had the world in the palm of their hands". But to informed people they are just shown as the Emperor without clothes and ignorant opinionated mouths controlled by establishment. The guys have seen the world and yet they are still inside a small bubble.
Much more valuable than anything to gain wisdom.

Thanks Bad Brad for being you! you are the real deal!!!

My finish… I walk my dog every day about 3-4 miles in the winter. About 6-8 miles a day in the summer. I never saw it coming, but I am becoming involved in a country band. The youngsters in the band are in their fifties. I will be 70 on my next birthday. The fun thing is that I have nothing left to prove. Being an old dork is comforting if you can embrace it.

@lawrencealberts898

What’s funny to me is when people say something like, “your 50s are the new 30s.” B/S. I am 70, and say to others, “your 70s are the new 70s.”

The first time I truly noticed “old” people at concerts, was about 15 years ago. I took my son to see ZZ Top at a local casino. Some audience members in the queue to get in, were using walkers, wheelchairs, canes, whatever. All with white hair, no hair, overweight, whatever. But they had their favorite band’s black t-shirt on.

Unless I have heard the singers recently and determined that they can still sing, I try to avoid those that could potentially have an AARP card and/or have started collecting social security. The cost of concerts is too much, I don’t want to hear them sing along to tracks, or hear more from the backgrounds singers, etc.

@liontone

Any of us who have made our living off an instrument have lived a truly, charmed life. We think of all the people who spent their lives in hard labor, doing jobs they would never have wanted to do, or looking for a job - and here we are, being paid to play an instrument. I’m always filled with gratitude that I’ve been able to base my life around making sounds come from a Tele, or Gibson, or Martin, and having kids, and a house, etc.

@victorvaldenegro4001

I’m also 58 and grew up in Vegas as a guitarist. You nailed everything my friend!

@Steve_Rotter

This really saddens me dude and I think about this a lot. My parents are in their mid 70s, which I can't believe. They say, "Imagine how we feel....we were just where you are now." That is terrifying on how fast time goes. I feel like I was just hanging out, going to concerts in the late 80s. Time just rips. Not right.

@RobertGadfly

Take care of your health as best you can. It will pay dividends later.

@robertmellang6998

It is the end of an era. In so many ways. We are in the history books now, we just don’t know it yet.

@jesusislukeskywalker4294

😂 8:05 ... looks like doctor smith from lost in space 😬

@TCarrNY

Seeing my favorite band retire from touring and look so much older really hit home. I’ll be 59 soon and almost died from an illness two years ago, so I’ve been thinking about my "back 9." I’m relearning guitar, doing artwork, taking better care of myself, and learning about AI.

I get why rock stars are less engaged now—they’re focused on their families and doing what makes them happy. They’ve won the game of life, living real lives, while we’re here on the internet. It’s a reminder to me to age gracefully and keep living fully, not just wait for life to pass by.
