I feel like the freedom and openness is my favorite part. Your not SUPPOSED to do anything in the game, but you CAN do whatever you want and interact with any of the multitudes of things going on or players in the world at your own leisure
I’ve been playing for nearly 4 years and ultra casual because life is busy. I love this game. I know a lot of people say it’s dead and sometimes you won’t see another ship. But enjoy the fishing time, or questing or tall tales. There is so much possibility with this game when you load in. And there is risk and reward, like most games.
The micro transactions in this game aren’t nearly as bad as other games because it’s actually feasible to get ancient coins through gameplay
Hopped on SoT solo to check it out. Got crewed with another player. Dude was chill, no mic but through text chat he was happy for me to talk while he does stuff and I just try to support him. My GOD this GUY! We were on the smallest ship and he was just soloing whole ass crews. He helped me through a few noobie questions and stuff but he just played on a whole nother level. 10/10, never had another crewmate like him again.
I’m glad this popped up in my recommended. It’s always nice to see the game from people who haven’t played it in a while and see their amazement at what’s new.
I think it would actually be awesome if they added a human navy type of enemy to the game. I know we already have the skeleton and ghost ships but there's just something about being hunted down by a real naval threat that would bring so much to the game I feel.
This is the perfect channel for busy adults that love some games and want to keep up with the news from time to time
i love sea of thieves so much, i played so many hours of it during the pandemic and it helped alleviate that feeling of being trapped inside all the time. exploring the vast oceans, solving puzzles, "retiring" and taking on a life of simple fishing at devil's ridge, inititiating unexpecting friends into our crew by locking them in the brig and vomiting on them, and our signature ritual of burning our boat and playing sea shanties until we drown before we get off. this game holds a special place in my heart and it's one of those that i always find myself playing again with old friends :)
I remember my first time playing in 2019. I miss it. No sweaty reapers and no ocean crawlers
We need more Sea of Thieves Content from you guys.... this has the same blow up potential as Cliff the Story Guys. Trust me
Sea of Thieves always reminds me to clean my screens. In the sunny weather with the white and blue ocean you see every speck of dirt on the screen.
You gotta grab the loot from the fleet battle! With your emissary at level 5 you earn so much gold
The only thing I am still missing is some kind of minigames with your crew members like cards or simple dice, just to do something more entartaining during sailing. Great game apart from that
Saw your tweet thanking Asmongold for watching your NMS video. Just finished watching that vid and now this one. Gotta say I really love this execution of the "___ in 2023/xx years later" genre of videos. It's so much more engaging to watch you retell your personal gameplay-driven journey with the game rather than listen to someone just summarize and/or give a laundry list comparison. I do appreciate that bit of objective/bird's-eye-view comparison that you sprinkle in too though. Keep it up!
I've been wanting to get back to SoT so bad, some of my best gaming memories are from this game. It is, as you said, truly special
I literally don't understand what I'm supposed to do in this game. You can't upgrade your ship, your weapons, or your character. You can slightly change their cosmetics but that's it. You can't permanently keep loot or any long-term meaningful changes. You pretty much just log in sail around for a little bit gain a tiny little bit of gold, and then have to restart everything from scratch the next time you log on. Am I missing something?
Bro what the production and everything on this I was stunned to see under 100k subs! Deserve way more and you’ve got another now
So wait, you missed the regular harpoon update which still required you to MANUALLY remove treasure from the harpoons? I also hadn't played since season 4 and when i cam back to find out poons now AUTO DROP loot on board I was gobsmacked. BEST UPDATE EVER to SoT 😆 Also, you do know that the Sovereigns have harpoons you can use to automatically grab treasure from your ship onto the lift right beside them? SO much faster to sell stuff now. BTW, SO LUCKY that shot at 5:06 missed or those skellies would have chased you all the way back to port XD.
My brother loves this game. I personally hate it but I dont tell him because its the only game he will play with me. Im a hardcore shooter guy and getting 5 bullets with no way to get more ammo slots or gun options Im bored out of my freaking mind and am in no way motivated to play a game for cosmetics. I wish i loved this..
