Harakiri: The Samurai Movie That Hates Samurai

Considered to be one of the greatest films of all time and currently on IMDB’s top 100 films list , Harakiri is a pivotal film in the samurai genre. Yet, it’s also been described as an anti-samurai film. Although it has all the trappings of genre, it presents a heart-wrenching criticism against bushido, the samurai code of honor that is usually glorified in these types of films.
