If you own a Fuji camera and shoot in RAW, it’s possible your Fuji RAW converter isn’t creating the best images. In this video, we do some pixel peeping to look at the problems developing the Fuji X-Trans RAW files. I think you will be very surprised at the findings.

If you’re interested in extracting the best possible image quality from your Fuji RAW files you should watch this video. Adobe Lightroom is often criticised in the past for its poor performance when converting Fuji X-Trans RAW files. Is this justified? Has Lightroom’s performance improved over the years? Are there better Fuji RAW converters? This video explores the facts Fuji landscape photographers need to be aware of.

The video was recorded using a 23” HD monitor at 1920 x 1080 pixels. This provides an excellent viewing resolution to identify image quality problems that are hidden on higher resolution monitors. For example, if you were viewing the images on a 27” 5K Mac monitor, you would need to zoom in to approximately 200% to obtain a similar impression of the image. Additionally, due to video compression and other factors, it’s quite possible the video will not illustrate the image problems well. For this reason, I have provided the example image files for free download.
