The Russian YouTube channel High Caliber Mayhem sets out to answer this question by dropping RPG rockets from various heights to see what happens.

First of all, when the rocket is thrown by hand, no reaction occurs. Next, they mount it on a spear to ensure the warhead hits the ground directly. Even when the impact crushes the tip—normally designed to detonate on contact—it still doesn’t explode.
They try the spear method again, and even though the warhead gets bent, the rocket remains inactive.
Finally, they give in and shoot it with a gun, and aside from a few sparks, the RPG still refuses to go off.
